Who we are
We believe in the magic of a beautiful book: both inside and out.
If you’re thinking “I’ve never heard of Variate Books” before, you’re right. Our founding team has decades of collective experience in writing, editing, publishing, and publishing technology, but Variate is a brand new venture.
We don’t want to waste a lot of time talking about the many things we’ve done for other people in other roles before this. Here’s what’s important to know: we’re passionate about crafting high-quality books that stand out, and we have the skills, expertise, and experience to bring them to fruition.
Why consider us:
This is your opportunity to get involved in a new imprint that’s genuinely invested in creating something special… and, yes, it requires a leap of faith. But so did writing your book! Rest assured that we’re taking that leap right alongside you, equally committed to seeing your story succeed.
Now Accepting Submissions:
We’re now accepting submissions for our debut line of 6 original titles to be released in 2025.
We want to work with authors who share our passion for storytelling and books. Whether you’re an emerging voice, an experienced self-published author tired of doing it all yourself, or an established author looking for a new home, we’re interested in hearing from you. We’re looking for manuscripts that demonstrate originality, depth, and a clear vision. Fiction, Fantasy, and Romance will be the best fit for our project, but we are open to other possibilities. We are not considering non-fiction, poetry, or collections of short stories at this time.
Important details: we’re only considering traditionally written books (free of AI artifacts), that are complete and ready for publication (no concept pitches, you must be prepared to provide the full manuscript when requested). The best fit will be standalone stories in the range of 60-80,000 words.
Submit a brief author bio, book synopsis and outline comprised of chapter summaries, as well as the first 5 chapters of your manuscript by email to melissa@variatepublishing.com
There is no reading fee and all submissions will receive a response. Please review our submission guidelines for additional details.
